I started this blog as a way to weave together my love of making with my intellectual interests and commitment to social and environmental justice.
Here you will find updates on my own art and links to items for sale as well as musings on what I think about as an artist and weaver on the process of making, labor, natural resources, material, upcycling, time, beauty and I am sure, much more.
Inspired, in particular, by how far the conversations around food justice, slow food, and eating locally and sustainably have come in recent years, I hope to use my making, writing, and teaching to bring a similar awareness and energy to the world of textiles, finding new ways to spark interest in just, sustainable, and meaningful textile production, and of course, to create objects of beauty, craftsmanship, and meaning.
I value your comments and hope that you will contribute to the conversation.
